Budgam, Aug 24 (KNS): Senior separatist leader and President Anjuman Shari Shain Aga Syed Hassan Almosvi Alsafvi led a protest here in Central Kashmir's Budgam district in support of Article 35-A on Friday.
Immediately after the day's congregational Friday prayers, Aga Syed Hassan along with his supporters, led the protest and warned Government of India of serious ramifications in case Article 35A is abrogated.
Aga Syed Hassan asked people to support every programme announced by the separatist conglomerate, Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), to protect Article 35-A.
The Article 35-A giving powers to state legislature to define permanent residents of J&K and their privileges has been challenged in the Supreme Court.
The apex court will hear the petition during the week beginning August 30.
Meanwhile, Anjuman Shari Shain also staged protest in support of Article 35-A in Magam, Ghamudu, Sofipora Pehalgam and Nowgam areas of Central Kashmir. A large number of people participated in these protest rallies. (KNS)
