Srinagar, July 13 (KNS): Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Sogami, paid rich tributes to the martyrs of July 13, 1931, calling them “valiant sons of the soil” who laid down their lives resisting tyranny and oppression.
“Today we pay homage to the brave martyrs of 13th July 1931. Their supreme sacrifice sparked a movement for justice, dignity, and democratic rights in Jammu and Kashmir,” Sogami said.
Calling for unity and truth, he urged people to honour the martyrs’ legacy by defending the rights of the people and upholding truth and unity.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
However, Sogami strongly condemned the unprecedented restrictions imposed on the day, calling the conduct of the Law and Order machinery “shameful and highly regretful.”
“These martyrs fought against the British just like countless others across the country. All of us, including ministers Javed Dar and Sakina Itoo, have been locked in,” he said.(KNS).
