Residents get free check-ups, medicines; focus on preventive healthcare, healthy living

Budgam, Oct 2 (KNS): An AYUSH health camp was organised at Gram Sabha Kenihama in Budgam on Friday under the People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) “Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas”, with residents provided free health check-ups, medicines and preventive healthcare services, officials said.

The camp, held under the “Healthy Village” thematic initiative as part of Reform Utsav, was organised by the AYUSH Health and Wellness Centre (AHWC), Kenihama, under the supervision of District AYUSH Officer Budgam Dr Muzaffar Hussain.

The camp was conducted by Medical Officer AHWC Kenihama Dr Nusrat Bashir and witnessed participation of a large number of local residents.

Officials said beneficiaries availed free health check-ups, AYUSH healthcare services and medicines, including immunity-boosting preparations.

Prakriti Parikshan of beneficiaries was also conducted to familiarise them with their individual health constitution and encourage adoption of suitable health and wellness practices.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Dr Bashir sensitised participants about preventive and promotive healthcare practices under the AYUSH system, with emphasis on healthy living, Yoga and a holistic approach to health and well-being.

Information, Education and Communication (IEC) material highlighting the benefits of AYUSH systems, Prakriti Parikshan and healthy lifestyle practices was also displayed and distributed among participants.

Officials said the initiative was aimed at strengthening community-level healthcare delivery by taking AYUSH services to the grassroots and increasing awareness about preventive healthcare.

The programme also sought to encourage public participation at the Gram Sabha level towards achieving the objective of a “Healthy Village” and promoting accessible, preventive and community-oriented healthcare services. (KNS)
