AIP urges workers to identify needy SC/ST patients for medical aid

Srinagar, September 13 (KNS) : Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi has urged all party constituency in-charges to identify deserving SC/ST patients requiring financial assistance for serious ailments and forward their cases to the office of Member of Parliament Er. Rashid for necessary assistance and follow-up.

According t a statement issued , Speaking at a meeting of AIP constituency in-charges, Inam said the recently revised Medical Aid Scheme-2026 provides assistance to eligible SC/ST patients from families with an annual income of up to ?5 lakh for major treatments including kidney, heart, liver, cancer and brain surgeries, organ transplantation, dialysis, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and other life-threatening diseases. Inam recalled incarcerated MP Er. Rashid’s longstanding commitment to needy patients, saying, “Even when Er. Rashid was an MLA, he consistently made efforts to ensure that poor and needy patients received financial assistance for their treatment.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe personally did not eat non-vegetarian food in his constituency and whenever he was invited to a feast, he would often say that the money being spent on non-vegetarian food could instead be used for the treatment of a needy patient. This reflected his belief that even small savings could become meaningful assistance for someone in distress. His concern for needy patients continues even today.”

He urged AIP workers to identify genuine cases at the grassroots level and forward complete documents to MP Er. Rashid’s office, so that eligible beneficiaries can be guided in accessing the assistance.

“Our workers must become a bridge between deserving families and available assistance. No genuine patient should miss out simply because they are unaware of the scheme or unable to complete the formalities,” Inam added.(KNS)
