AIP Accuses NC of Abandoning Open-Merit Youth Despite Repeated Promises

Srinagar, Nov 26 (KNS) : Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi has sharply criticised the latest JKSSB advertisement for 600 Accounts Assistant posts, calling the category-wise breakup “another heavy blow” to the morale of open-merit youth.

In a statement isssued ,Inam Un Nabi pointed out that only 240 out of 600 posts just 40% have been assigned to the open-merit category, leaving “thousands of hardworking aspirants competing for less than half the vacancies,” while horizontal reservations may further reduce even this limited pool. “The system that should reward talent is now shutting its doors on those who rely solely on merit,” he said.

Inam Un Nabi added that this growing pattern is triggering a deep psychological decline among young aspirants.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“The real crisis is the falling confidence of an entire generation that sees the space for their merit shrinking every year,” he remarked.

Inam Un Nabi also targeted the National Conference (NC), recalling that the party promised rationalisation of reservation during the last Assembly elections and Omar Abdullah repeated the same promise in the recent by-election yet nothing changed.

Inam Un Nabi reiterated that AIP had earlier urged the Chief Minister to pause recruitment until reservation rules are rationalised, as continuing selections under an imbalanced system “cements injustice permanently.” He urged the government to act urgently, saying, “J&K’s open-merit youth cannot be made invisible. Their rights, morale and future must matter.”(KNS)
