420,000 Personnel Mobilized to Serve 1.67 Million Hajj Pilgrims, says report

RIYADH, June 14 (KNS): The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) has released its official Hajj 2025 Statistical Bulletin, highlighting the scale of this year's pilgrimage operations. According to the report, 420,070 individuals from public and private sectors — including security forces — were deployed to serve the 1,673,230 pilgrims who performed Hajj this year.

The workforce supporting the pilgrims was overwhelmingly male, with men comprising 92% and women 8%.

Among them were 34,540 volunteers of both genders, who dedicated a remarkable 2.1 million hours of service across the holy sites throughout the pilgrimage.

The report also shed light on the continued success of the “Makkah Route Initiative,” with 314,337 international pilgrims — or 20.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel9% of all foreign pilgrims — benefiting from its streamlined pre-departure immigration process. Launched in 2017, the initiative now includes travelers from eight countries.

Of the total pilgrims, 1,506,576 came from outside Saudi Arabia, while 166,654 were domestic pilgrims, including both Saudi citizens and residents. In terms of gender distribution, 877,841 pilgrims were men and 795,389 were women.

GASTAT emphasized the reliability of its figures, which are based on administrative data provided by the Ministry of Interior. This methodology, applied consistently over the past five years, ensures accuracy in capturing pilgrim demographics and service logistics. (KNS)
