3 Health Care Institutions of J&K Nationally Certified under LaQshya Programme

 

Srinagar May 03 (KNS):  In a Significant development and improvement in Quality of Labour Rooms and Maternity Operation Theaters Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Govt of India has accorded National Certification under LaQshya program to Govt. Lalla Ded Hospital Srinagar, District Hospital, Ganderbal and Govt. Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu in the UT in recognition of the high standards of quality and ensuring Respectful Maternity Care in the Labour Rooms and Maternity OTs.

These facilities were assessed by a team of highly qualified and empanelled assessors from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India in the month of February & March, 2023 and these Health Care Facilities have been rated as Quality Certified under LaQshya program of National Health Mission as communicated by Joint Secretary, MoH&FW GoI, in a letter addressed to the UT Government. The National Certification will be valid for a period of three years subject to annual verification of the scores by the State Quality Assurance Committee.

Secretary, Health & Medical Education J&K, Sh. Bhupinder Kumar while congratulating the facility staff of these three hospitals for this achievement, urged all Medical Colleges, District Hospitals and CHCs to work for implementation of LaQshya standards in Labour Rooms & Maternity OTs for improving care around birth so that Maternal & Newborn Health is further improved.

Mission Director, NHM J&K, Ms Ayushi Sudan also congratulated the three facilities and their quality teams. She said that the certification has been accorded to these three facilities in recognition of the “high standards of quality and performance maintained by these hospitals” in their concerned Labour Room and Maternity Operation Theatre. She also added that a lot of other facilities are being taken up for the NQAS, LaQshya & MusQan quality certification which will improve the standards of services across the UT of J&K and thus will be instrumental in improvement of various health indicators to a considerable extent.(KNS)
