2 injured in leopard attack in Handwara village

 Handwara June 14 (KNS):  At least two persons were injured after being attacked by a leopard in Yaroo village of Langate in north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Wednesday evening.

Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that a leopard attacked the duo when they were busy in sowing rice saplings in nearby fields.

The injured have been identified as Mohammed Shafi Shah son of Mohammad Yousuf Shah of Batpora Langate, and Mohammad Hamzah resident of Yaroo village.

"They were promptly evacuated from the site and taken to DH Handwara, where their condition is stable," he said.

The attack created panic in the area while the residents urged wildlife department to catch the leopard. (KNS)
