Police holds wreath laying ceremony for slain cops at DPL Sgr

Srinagar, Feb 06 (KNS): Two cops were killed today after militants opened fire on a police party escorting a Pakistani prisoner for medical check-up here at SMHS.
The police officials told KNS that a police party was escorting a Pakistani prisoner Naveed when it was fired upon by unknown gunmen resulting in injuring to two police personnel, who later on succumbed to their injuries.
Meanwhile, the prisoner managed to escape and a manhunt to nab the militant has been launched.
In a press release issued to KNS, the police said that a wreath laying ceremony of the slain Head-Constable Mushtaq Ahmad resident of Dildar Karnah and Constable Babar Ahmad Khan resident of Shangus Achabal was held at District Police Lines (DPL) Srinagar.
ADGP Munir Ahmed Khan led the police officers in laying the floral wreaths on the mortal remains of the deceased. DIG CKR Ghulam Hassan Bhat, DC Srinagar Syed Abid Hussain, SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray and other officers of Police, CRPF, SSB were present during the ceremony, read the press release.
Mushtaq Ahmad is survived by wife and an adopted minor daughter (10), while as the constable Babar Ahmad Khan is survived by wife, two daughters (aged three and two years), father, four brothers and one unmarried sister. (KNS)
