14,531 booked for violation of Covid SOPs, ₹ 13.27 lakh fine released in Reasi: Police

Reasi, Aug 17 (KNS): To fight the Covid pandemic, police on the one hand is propagating awareness about COVID Appropriate Behavior in every nook and corner of district through announcements, on the other hand enforcing and slapping fines against the violators to achieve 100% compliance on protocol set up by the Health department.

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that under this drive Reasi Police booked 14,531 violators of Covid Protocol throughout the district, collected a fine of ? 13,27,145, which is being deposited in the kitty of Red Cross Society which remains at the disposal of Deputy Commissionar.

“Besides this police personal including Village Defense Committee members are already engaged in awareness drive as ‘Force Multiplier’ in the vaccination campaign in Mahore & other remote areas of the District Reasi for Covid Protocol. Police and VDC are also helping ignorant people against false rumors about the vaccination, actively mobilizing eligible citizens & mobilizing them to vaccination camps,” reads the statement.

Meanwhile, SSP Reasi Shailender Singh said that Reasi Police is committed to make people aware about Covid SOP's and make them to follow Covid appropriate behavior in totality along with vaccination, which is the only way out to fight against this deadly Pandemic.

He further appealed that people should come forward for Covid Vaccination and make district Reasi 100% Vaccinated district at an earliest. (KNS)
