Jammu, Jul 25 (KNS): Beyond the Himalayas: Rediscovering India's Forgotten Geography, authored by Jammu-based geopolitical analyst Bharat Nanda, was unveiled here today by Himachal Pradesh Governor Shri Kavinder Gupta.
The book explores India's ancient civilisational links beyond the Himalayan range, tracing the trade routes, Buddhist centres, and cultural networks that once connected the subcontinent with Tibet, Xinjiang, and Central Asia, an official release said. Based on historical maps, manuscripts, and archaeological findings, it posits the Himalayas as bridges rather than barriers for the flow of ideas and commerce across Asia for centuries.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor lauded the author's effort to highlight a significant yet underexplored aspect of India's historical geography.
