NLCO extends Mission Ahsaas under Phase-3, restored four springs in Ganderbal

 
Srinagar, June 23 (KNS): Keeping the spirit of Mission Ehsaas alive, NLCO has extended the mission and under its Phase-3 today, in collaboration with District Administration Ganderbal, Stakeholders, renowned schools/Colleges and volunteers a Restoration of four Springs and Cleaning Drive was held at Lar Ganderbal.

With an objective of inculcation of Environmental Values among School/college students for Sustainable Development & to restore our depleting natural water resources this drive was held at Sinnag area of Waliwar Lar Ganderbal. 

Hundreds of students from Birla Open Minds International School Pampore, Crescent Public School, SSM College of Engineering & Bilaliya Educational Institute participated in the program.  The students participated in collection of solid waste mostly plastic that has been littered in & around the streams and springs. While as the volunteers of NLCO will be restoring four identified springs in the village which will provide fresh water to the inhabitants. NLCO greatly appreciates the participation of the students and thank them for their enthusiasm and passion. I thank the school managements for their commitment and concern. 

NLCO is highly grateful to ADDC Mr Khurshid Ahmad Shah for participating in the programme and his presence was an encouragement to all. We sincerely thank CEO MC Ganderbal Mr. Naveed Ajas for his help in sending the waste pickup vehicles who will dispose the solid waste collected by the students and volunteers. We thank Mr Sajad Ahmad PA DC Ganderbal for the excellent coordination. Special thanks to GN VAR for joining us today in the event. 

The restoration work is in progress and we are hopeful that the springs will soon be restored to their pristine glory.(KNS)
