'Congress and Independent Councillors Must Raise Voice Against corruption in SMC': Waheed Dar


We Invite all to join hands in making Srinagar City a Smart City
Srinagar 26 June: Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Councillor Waheed Dar reiterates the need for making SMC corruption free and in this gigantic task expressed the importance of Congress and independent councillors for raising voice against corruption and invites all the councilors irrespective of the party lines to join anti-Corruption movement to work together for the bright future of Srinagar city.
According to the statement given to KNS, Councillor Waheed Dar says, “we want to make the anti-corruption movement broad-based and representative and for that purpose we invite all the councilors to join the movement. There are no camps in this movement. It is a movement towards transparency, accountability and good governance”.
Meanwhile Congress Corporators in Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Tuesday submitted the final report to J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President regarding their future course of action with respect to the development in SMC and their support to the Mayor candidate in the upcoming election
It is learnt from the sources that the Congress Corporators Shafat Gaffar Mir and Bashrat Bin Qadir after holding threadbare discussions with the former Mayor, Junaid Azim Mattu and Independent group of Corporators led by the former Dy. Mayor Shiekh Imran, have submitted their final report to J&K Congress President, G. A. Mir.
While Speaking to KNS, Waheed Dar said, “It is the time for all the councilors to come together and kill the menace of corruption. In our religion, corruption is a big sin. I am making efforts along with the support of like-minded councilors to make SMC corruption free.” He further added that if the councilors belonging to the former Mayor, Juanid Mattu’s Camp are ready to work for the bright future of SMC they are invited whole-heartedly to join the movement and make SMC corruption free. “If Mayor or deputy Mayor in future showed no respect for the principles of transparency, accountability and good governance we can pass vote of no-confidence motion anytime”, he added
