Kreeri, Jan 11 (KNS): Police in north Kashmir's Kreeri have appealed to the public for assistance in the investigation into the death of a woman, whose body was recovered earlier this month, nearly two months after she was reported missing.
A police official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the body of Atiqa Begum, wife of Abdul Ghafear Mir a resident of Zameendar Mohalla, Kreeri, was found in the family's cowshed on January 2, 2026.
"The investigation into this matter is currently underway," the official said.
The officer said that police are requesting anyone with information related to the case to come forward.

According to police records, Begum had been missing since November 5, 2025, and a missing person report was filed at Police Station Kreeri on the same day.
The officer informed KNS that the deceased's body was found by local residents in the family's cowshed on January 2. Police have been investigating the circumstances continuously since the discovery. (KNS)
