‎Srinagar, Sep 30 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi on Wednesday made his India debut, becoming the latest cricketer from the Union Territory to break into the national side as India faced the West Indies in the second ODI at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

‎India captain Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to field, with Nabi coming into the playing XI in place of Nitish Kumar Reddy.

‎The debut caps a remarkable rise for the Baramulla-born right-arm pacer, whose breakthrough has come after two outstanding Ranji Trophy seasons for Jammu and Kashmir.

‎The India call-up came earlier this month when Nabi was named in the 15-member ODI squad for the West Indies series. He has now gone a step further, receiving his maiden India cap and walking out in the national colours for the first time.
