Woman social activist, who unsuccessfully contested DDC election from Aloosa block joins PDP

Bandipora, Jan 02:(KNS)  A woman social activist who unsuccessfully contested the DDC election from Aloosa panchayat block in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district Saturday joined the People’s Democratic Party along with her supporters.

In a statements to Kashmir News Service,  an official spokesperson said that Dilshad along with her supporters today joined the PDP in the presence of senior leader and former legislator Nizam ud Din Bhat.

He said that Nizamuddin Bhat felicitated and warmly welcomed Dilshada into the party fold in the presence of BDC chairperson and Sarpanchs of Aloosa block.

The spokesperson said that Dilshad resolved to use the party forum for women empowerment and also work for strengthening the party at the grassroots level.

He said that Dilshada had bagged a sizeable chunk of votes and enjoys fair reputation as a social worker in the area.

It is pertinent to mention that Aloosa panchayat block was swept by the PDP in the recently held DDC and panchayat by-polls.(KNS)
