Classes 9–12 to Shut in second week
Srinagar, Nov 24 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday announced winter vacations for schools across the Kashmir Valley, with the break starting from December 1 for students up to Class 8.
Schools for Classes 9 to 12 will close in the second week of December, Education Minister Sakina Itoo said on Monday.
The minister said the decision has been taken in view of the falling temperatures and harsh weather conditions expected in the coming weeks.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Winter vacations for lower classes will begin from December 1, while senior classes will continue for another week before shutting down,” she said.
Schools will resume after the winter break in March, subject to weather conditions and academic scheduling. Parents and teachers have welcomed the decision, saying the move will help students avoid travel during severe winter conditions.(KNS)
