Srinagar, July 16 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered an inquiry into the complaints of “immoral activities” in the J&K Khadi Village and Industries Board (KVIB).

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Dr. Hina Bhat Chairperson of KVIB, told KNS that if any complaint is being filed against us, its our responsibility to investigate the matter and bring facts to fore in transparent manner.

She said our schemes are transparent and online and the important thing is that the beneficiary does not need to go anywhere. "Yes we have received a complaint from Kishtwar. There has been a cluster project of 1.99 lac in Kishtwar, which we have stopped because there were incomplete documents of the land, so we stopped that".

Dr. Hina Bhat added, "We have no financial powers. Everything goes directly to the bank accounts of beneficiaries from the commission”. She further added that whenever beneficiary wants to avail our scheme, the amount directly goes into the bank account of beneficiary. We are just facilitators, and later its district administration and other committee officials that approves the scheme".

Dr. Hina refuted any allegation and said there is no room for nepotism while granting benefits. "Before I joined KVIB, lot of things had happened. We canceled recruitments done last year,” she said.

She also said that Government has appointed inquiry officer, Syed Shabir Shafi Director, Planning Industries & Commerce Department to probe the matter. (KNS)
