Srinagar, Jan 24 (KNS): In an operation against poaching, a joint squad of the Forest Protection Force (FPF)and Wildlife Department carried out raid in Nigeen lake on Wednesday and seized weapon and various other tools used in hunting.

The squad seized One gun, six live bullets and five Nylon water proof decoys from the suspected place. However, poachers gave slip to squad and managed to escape from spot, said Javid Iqbal Deputy Director FPF.

Following recent episodes of poaching in Anantnag and Ganderbal districts, the Forest Protection Force, Wildlife Department and Police are working in tandem to crackdown on poachers in Kashmir valley, he added.

As per official, Wildlife officials have initiated legal proceedings in the instant case so that investigations can be taken forward and culprits are brought to book (KNS).
