Wearing mask not punishment, unavailable compulsion , sufficient capacity of bed available in Hospitals: DC Srinagar

Srinagar April 19 (KNS) :  The district administration Srinagar led by Deputy commissioner, along SSP Srinagar, and SSP traffic  Aijaz Asad on Monday initiated a drive to have covid19 awareness campaign. The drive will be also against the transporters who are violating the COVID-19 norms. “We have launched a drive to ensure that the directions issued by the State Executive Committee (SEC) are followed letter and spirit,” he said.


Talking to reporters , DC Srinagar said that as of now, we do not have directions to impose locksown, we are as an implementing agency, once we get the directions, we will implement, he said.
As of now we have sufficient capacity of beds in our hospitals, last year the places who have been set up for covid19 care centers are there to use. We have sufficient arrangements at the moment, he added. 

Replying to a question about availability of oxygen supply, he said there is no shortage of the oxygen supply and on the directions of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the administration is further setting up oxygen plants, which would be made functional soon.

The Deputy Commissioner retreated, that the people should not move out without mask. There has been surge in covid cases, so its important to follow the SoP and other government guidelines. We also warn transporters that do not carry passengers’ more than the capacity and carry as per covid SoP. He added.(KNS)
