Srinagar, Oct 27 (KNS): Residents of Umar Abad Shah-e-Hamdan, land sector 2 Zainakote Srinagar have expressed strong resentment over lack of drainage system in the area.

Anjuman-e-Ulema-e-Ahnaf chief Moulana Akhzar Hussain said in absence of proper drainage system, the area is water-logged. He said the problem is severe is sector 1 and 2. "Due to water-logging, we face plethora of problems to venture out of our homes.

“We have to undergo great deal of trouble passing through murky waters. Though the concerned authorities were apprised of the matter, they did not take any action,” he said.

He appealed the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to look into the matter and direct the concerned authorities for taking up remedial measures. (KNS)
