Volunteer group repairs abandoned road in Kupwara village

Kupwara, Oct 10 (KNS): A volunteer group led by senior and youth citizens of Lalpora village of north Kashmir's Kupwara district repaired a damaged road from Gundmacher to Lalpora on their own.

A volunteer while talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the road from Gundmacher to Lalpora was dotted with potholes and was abandoned by the district administration, causing problems to commuters while travelling on this road.

"We were waiting for administration to repair it, but nothing was done till now, which led us to collect donations locally to do it ourselves," he said.

He alleged that the road was in extreme bad condition, and even earlier a pregnant lady suffered internal injuries due potholes on the road.

"The 3KM road stretch road costed around Rs 50, 000, which has been widely lauded by the locals." (KNS)
