Violence level in Jammu region comparatively low since 2012: GOC 16 Corps

Jammu, Sep 28 (KNS) : General commanding officer(GOC), White Knight Corps, Lieutuenant General Manjinder Singh on Wednesday said that the violence level in Jammu region is comparatively low since 2012 year. 


Addressing media here at Jammu, the GOC said that from 2012 till today, the violence level in Jammu is comparatively low. "However Pakistan tries to infiltrate, spread militancy, ammunition and narcotics. But we have a strong anti-infiltration and anti-militancy grid now," he said. 

He further said that the drone activity carried by pakistan is being witnessed in Samba and Kutha districts of the Jammu region. "Very soon we will have the anti-drone equipment so that can fight against it with more teeth" he said, adding that the security grid is very strong and vigilant on the borders. 

 "Subsequently from 2012 to till today the violence level is very low," he said, adding that still several modules on the directions of their handlers are trying to create problems. 

The GOC further said that there's no local recruitment in Jammu but some youths are involved in narcotics, money and weapon activities which is a challenge. however they are being identified through various agencies, he said.

He hailed the action of people for capturing alive the well trained militant Talib Hussain in Reasi area of the region recently-(KNS)
