Vibrant event organized for specially-abled student of Baramulla

Srinagar, May 16 (KNS): Keeping its mission of uplifting the society especially the specially abled sector, Human Aid Society Baramulla in collaboration with ADAMS Wylie Physio Rehab center Mumbai, Haris and Ahmad Khan's Charitable Trust Srinagar and Aamina hospital Nowgam bypass road Srinagar organized a vibrant event where a specially abled student Ishrat hailing from Baramulla who represents India in Basketball tournaments was given adieu for Mumbai for treatment so that she could walk by her feet. 

 
According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) Human Aid Society along with the other organizations took initiative and pursued an International acclaimed Physiotherapist Dr Aijaz Ashai who along with his team assured that the student will be able to walk by herself.
 
While expressing her emotions Ishrat said that she was unable to walk after an accident in the year 2016. “Due to negligence of the then Doctor I was retarded as I lost the power of my legs to spinal cord injury. But it didn't came as hindrance and I played Basketball on wheelchair presently I am representing India. Now I have got a lively hope that I will be able to walk by my own feet. After that I won't be able to play. Since I will be able to play only for few years with this condition it will be great and ease for the rest of my life if I will be able to walk. I will not be dependent on any one and it is great feeling in itself. Words will too less to thank them for what they are doing for me.” 
 
Dr Aijaz Ashai said that they have examined the patient and by the grace of God she will be able to walk by her own feet. “Since it has been almost 7 years of her injury she would have been fine if negligence would have been avoided by the doctor who treated her then.” 
 
He further said that all such patients who go through this are not all untreatable, but they need timely intervention and care.
 
Human Aid Society and its co- partners will continue to give their best to identify and help them in pursuing their goals and provide them such opportunities where they could overcome various obstacles and hindrances. 
 
It is pertinent to mention Ex-chairman J&K Bank Mohammad Yousuf Khan who is currently the head of Haris and Ahmad Khan's charitable Trust Srinagar fully sponsored the expenses of the treatment of the patient and paid all the dues in advance. (KNS)
