Srinagar, Dec 24 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday appointed vice-chairman Lakes and Conservation Management Authority (LCMA), Dr Bashir Ahmad Bhat as the inquiry officer to conduct inquiry into the allegations of malpractices and partitioning of general bus stand Anantnag.

According to an order issued by principal secretary to the government Housing and Urban Development Authority Dheeraj Gupta, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS), the inquiry officer has been asked to submit the report within one month.

The order was issued in terms of Section 26 of the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Act, 2000.

“Sanction is hereby accorded to the appointment of Dr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat, IRS, Vice Chairman, Lakes & Conservation Management Authority (LCMA), Srinagar, as an Inquiry Officer to conduct a detailed enquiry into the allegations of malpractices and partitioning of General Bus Stand Anantnag and accommodating different transport associations, by President, MC, Anantnag,” reads the order.

It stated that as a principal of natural justice, a reasonable opportunity of being heard shall be afforded to the President concerned. (KNS)
