VC Cluster University Srinagar visits Amar Singh College Srinagar

Srinagar June 25:(KNS) Vice Chancellor, Cluster University Srinagar, Professor Dr. Qayyum Husain visited Amar Singh College on Friday and interacted with the Heads of various departments and the teaching faculty of the college. The day long visit was second of its kind to the constituent colleges of the Cluster University Srinagar, the first being the visit to S.P.College Srinagar on 14th June 202. The main purpose and objective behind these official visits to the constituent colleges of Cluster University Srinagar is to chalk out a roadmap for the growth and development of Cluster University Srinagar by active involvement and support of all stakeholders including the teaching faculty from the constituent colleges. Cluster University Srinagar was established as State University and has been established under “The Srinagar and Jammu Cluster Universities Act, 2016″ passed on July 8, 2016 by pooling the resources of five existing colleges of Amar Singh College, Sri Pratap College, Govt. College for Women, M. A. Road, Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College Bemina and Institute of Advanced Studies in Education, and Professor Dr. Qayyum Husain took the reins of the university as its Vice Chancellor on 12th March 2021. 

During his visit to Amar Singh College, Professor Qayyum, shared in detail his vision and mission of taking the Cluster University Srinagar to its zenith by integrating, in letter and spirit, the five constituent colleges, and turning the university into a high-ranking institution of higher education. During his presidential address, the honourable Vice Chancellor, assured the principal, faculty and students of Amar Singh College that with their support, cooperation and committed efforts, Cluster University Srinagar shall see an overall and systematic progress and development not just in terms of academics, but also research, sports activities, placements, and co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The honourable Vice Chancellor during the interactive session, took detailed overview of the various departments and the programmes being offered by the college and also discussed the prospects of introducing PG centres, skill development and employment generation courses in various constituent colleges as per the National Education Policy 2020.

During the interactive programme, the honourable Vice Chancellor also released three books published by one faculty and two students of Amar Singh College, as a gesture of encouragement of scholarship. (KNS)
