Rafiabad January 29 (KNS) : Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference Senior Vice President and Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today took an extensive tour of villages of Zangeer Rafiabad namely Zalura, Harwan, Sagipora Rawoocha and Mahrajpora Sopare where he interacted with people. Upon listening to the woes of people, he said that the government has failed to address problems of people living in far-flung areas of the Valley and neglected their development sector.
He expressed concern that poor people are being harrassed in the name of land drive but those who are actually in possession of hundreds of kanals of pasteurised land are left untouched.
Vakil said, "Our people are still living without good roads, electricity and water and what is surprising is that even the people who are regularly clearing their electricity dues are still deprived of electricity as the Power Department is not implementing its own power schedule."
Unemployment has touched the skies in J&K and time demands that a comprehensive employment package for the youth of J&K is the need of the hour in the present scenario where drug abuse has already reached to an alarming situation and government needs to create transparent employment opportunities for the youth of the J&K.
