Vaccine shortage prevalent in Kashmir amid spike in COVID-19 cases: Kadfeen

Srinagar,21 May (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary has said that the dearth of vaccines in Srinagar and other districts of Kashmir valley is endangering the lives of people here and that the administration must take immediate measures to put a lid over such crises at the earliest.

Kadfeen said that even when the government earlier claimed that there will be no shortage of vaccines in Kashmir, the situation on the ground is quite contrary with locals from a plethora of areas complaining that such a vaccine facility is available at the local health centres. Kadfeen said that as per the reports, there is complete chaos outside the vaccination centres and people are fuming over the shortage of jabs.

He added that the government and its entire machinery should have ensured that the people here aren’t made to wait for hours outside the centres and only to be told at the end that there were no jabs available. Such a scenario, according to Kadfeen, is creating chaos and exposing people to the deadly virus.

The Congress leader demanded adequate stock of vaccines in Kashmir’s health centres and proper communication to the people so that they could avail the facility without undergoing any further hardships.(KNS)
