Usman Majid anguished over losses in Kudara Bandipora due to Cloudburst

Srinagar Aug 28 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Apni Party Vice President Usman Majid on Sunday expressed anguish over the massive damages to standing crops and property in Kudara district due cloud burst followed by flash floods and asked the administration to reach out to those affected with adequate compensation.

Expressing concern over the losses incurred by people, Majid said, “cloud burst and heavy rains have caused massive damage across various pockets of Kudara. Besides despoiling standing crops , it has damaged several houses in the areaa.

He said the sheer degree of damage to standing crops ,livestock and private properties makes it imperative for government agencies to come to the rescue of those affected. “I urge the district and divisional administration to come to depute revenue teams to assess the losses to people so that the amount of compensation is worked out and distributed forthwith as well,” he said.

Majid demanded that the affected farmers and horticulturalists should be compensated on MSP rates. He further impressed upon the concerned authorities to carry out the required restoration works in the affected areas. He also sought distribution of increased quota of ration to affected people at all local PDS stores at all affected places, Majid said. (KNS)
