Unscheduled power cuts irk Mawer residents

Srinagar, Apr 15 (KNS): The residents of several villages of Mawer in Kupwara district on Tuesday complained about interrupted power supply in the area despite paying regular electricity bills.
 
The residents told Kashmir News Service (KNS), the villages including Audoora, Qalamabad, Drugsoo, Nowgam, Lawoosa, Sheakhpora, Shahrama, Shartgund Payeen, Hangha, Batagund Mawer, Haril, Minabal and adjoining areas are not getting power supply as per schedule.
 
They alleged that the employees at Grid Station Audoora Qalamabad are deliberately making people to suffer and are resorting to interrupted power supply in the area.
 
Bashir Ahmad, a local resident from Qalamabad told KNS that they are paying electricity bills regularly but not getting the power supply as per schedule. 
 
"During 24 hours, areas are getting only 2-3 hours of power supply, thereby making them suffer even in the holy month of Ramadan,” he said. 
 
The residents said the PDD should cancel their load agreements as department has failed to provide electricity to these areas as per schedule. (KNS)
