Says, UT administration must come with a concrete job policy for unemployed youth

Rafiabad  February 12 (KNS): Senior Vice-president of J&K People’s Conference (PC) and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil, today said that promises made by Union Territory Government for the unemployed youth have proved to be hoax, pushing the youth to the wall and the matter of concern is that the youth of J&K is resorting to drugs due to unemployment which is dangerous and the result of which would be a spoiled generation that a civilized society cannot afford. Abdul Gani Vakil was addressing party workers' meeting at Zalura, Waripora, Tragpora in Rafiabad and NaseerAbad in Sopore. He said that the promises and claims made by the Government to provide jobs for the thousands of educated youth have not yielded any results so far. Instead people who were employed by previous regimes are on roads protesting for their regularisation and for the release their wages every other day and it is shocking that instead of listening to their grievances these protesting employees are being lathi charged.

According to a statement issued to KNS, read that while addressing the gathering, Former Minister urged the UT administration to come up with a concrete job policy for the unemployed youth so that they may not suffer anymore and come closer to mainstream. “Once the employment opportunities are created, the youth would be converged towards the Government, which is the need of the hour,” Vakil added.

He further said that it is unfortunate that even the previous Governer, Satyapal Malik, promised 50000 jobs for youth and similarly present LT Governor, Manoj Sinha, promised 10000 jobs for unemployed youth but nothing has been done till date and only mere statements were issued for this cause and hence, the promises proved to be a white lie and practically a deceit to the youth.(KNS)
