Two Sopore residents, involved in Militancy Conspiracy Case, arrested: NIA

Srinagar, Nov 12 (KNS): The National Investigation Agency on Friday said that it arrested two more accused persons involved in a case related to militancy conspiracy case in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that NIA arrested two more accused persons Rashid Muzaffar Ganaie and Nasir Mir—both residents of Sopore.

The statement reads that the case relates to conspiracy both physically and in cyberspace for undertaking violent militant acts in J&K and other major cities including New Delhi, by the cadres of Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and similar other outfits and their affiliates such as the Resistance Front (TRF), People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF) etc.

“These militants and cadres have effected several militant acts including killings of numerous innocent civilians and security personnel, unleashing a reign of terror in the valley of Kashmir, thereby challenging the writ of the state. Accordingly, NIA had registered the case as RC 29/2021/NIA/DLI) dated 10.10.2021 and initiated the investigation,” it reads.

The statement also reads that the NIA has arrested 27 persons in the case till now.

“Preliminary investigation has revealed that arrested accused persons are militant associates and OGWs of various militant outfits and have been providing logistical and material support to militants. Further investigation in the case is going on,” it reads. (KNS)
