Srinagar, Sep 27 (KNS) An encounter rages between militants and government forces in Ahwatoo area of south kashmir's Kulgam district, police said here on Tuesday.
An official said that a joint team of police cordon and search operation in the area after a specific input was generated. "As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight," he said.
"Encounter has started at Ahwatoo area of Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow," said J&K police in tweet while confirming the gunfight
While quoting ADGP kashmir Vijay kumar, the police in an another tweet said that two local terrorists of proscribed terror outfit JeM trapped in the ongoing encounter. "Both the trapped terrorists are involved in several terror crime cases," it said. (KNS)
