Srinagar, Sep 27 (KNS) Two Jash-e-Mohammad militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in South Kashmir's Kulgam district, police said here on Tuesday.
Additional director General of Police Vijay Kumar said that two Jash-e-Mohammad (JeM), militants have been killed in the exchange of fire. However identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained.
He futher said that the incriminating materials including arms and ammunition have been recovered from the encounter site while the Search is going on.
Earlier police said that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Shattipora. As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.(KNS).
