Traffic to border areas restricted in Kupwara in view of slippery road conditions

Kupwara, Nov 05 (KNS): In view of fresh snow fall and slippery condition of roads, the authorities in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday directed to restrict traffic movement from to border areas in the district.

Officials told Kashmir News Service (KNS), that deputy commissioner Kupwara has directed to restrict traffic movement from both sides to border areas in the district including Keran, Karnah, Machil, Jumagund, Budnambal and Kumkadi.

They said that the direction will remain in force till weather gets improved and directions have issued to save precious lives from accidental mishaps.

“SSP Kupwara, SDM Karnah and Tehsildars of Karnah, Kralpora and Kupwara have been asked to implement the orders forthwith,” they said.

Meanwhile, SHO Karnah, Mudasir Ahmad told KNS that prior to the directions issued by DC office, they had allowed the traffic as usual, but once they received the directions traffic movement was restricted.

Nitin Joshi officer commanding BEACON said that despite arduous trek and nearly a feet snow, they worked diligently and cleared the road to make the road motorable. (KNS)
