Traffic Police organises workshop on Traffic Management and Road Safety

Srinagar, Feb 17 (KNS): Traffic Police Srinagar today organized a day-long
workshop on Traffic Management and Road Safety.
The workshop was attended by all stakeholders to discuss the traffic management and road safety issues.
The Workshop was chaired by ADGP Traffic J&K
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Chief Engineer R&B, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, SSP Traffic City Srinagar,Chief Town Planner, ASP Traffic, DySP Traffic City
South, Dy. SP Traffic City West and representatives from SDA, President Maxicab Association, Chamber &
Commerce, Public Transport and other stakeholders.
The workshop was held with an aim to chalk out joint strategy by all the stake holders for improving trafficmanagement in Srinagar, a Statement issued to KNS said.
Speaking on the occasion, ADGP Traffic T. Namgyal stressed upon the participants for collective approach towards streamlining the traffic in
City Srinagar with special emphasis on removal of vendors, hawkers , filling of potholes, shifting of utilities and relocation of footpaths and other works which can collectively help in better traffic management in City
Srinagar.

SSP Traffic City Srinagar Javid Ahmad Koul appraised the participants by means of a PowerPoint Presentation with the issues faced by Traffic Police City Srinagar in maintaining order of vehicular movement in Central Business District areas by which it becomes more and more difficult to cater better vehicular movement of traffic.

Transport Planner Mohsin Ahmad briefed the audience with a wonderful Power Point Presentation
how to tackle the ongoing traffic scenario and means to improve vehicular movement and reduce road
accidents by putting forth some collective efforts and measure by all the stakeholders on board.
The workshop ended with ASP Traffic Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Wani appraising the chair about the collective
measures taken by Traffic Police City Srinagar viz-a- viz traffic awareness programmes held during the Road Safety Month, 2021, and thanked all the participants for their participation.( KNS)
