Handwara, Apr 20 (KNS): The authorities on Thursday halted traffic movement on a bridge in Langate area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district after surface under it started caving in due to flashfloods.
An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS), that surface under bridge over Mawer Nallah started caving in due flashfloods following heavy rainfall in the area.
The bridge is locally known as "Daand Kadal" and was a key link connecting several villages.
Meanwhile, authorities have urged locals to exercise caution and avoid crossing the Nallah until alternative arrangements can be made. Officials have rushed to the spot to assess the situation. (KNS)
