Three persons who intended to cross LOC arrested in Uri: Police

Uri, April 29 (KNS): Police today said that it arrested three persons in Uri who intended to cross LOC and were handed over to their families.

According to a police statement, the three persons Majid Rakeeb Konshi S/O Ab. Rakeeb Konshi R/O Nowgam Handwara aged (26 yrs), Waseem Ahmad Khan S/O Mohd. Malik Khan R/O Deedikot Kupwara aged (28yrs) and.Ghulam Mustafa Ahanger S/O Ab. Jabar Ahanger R/O Goshi Kupwara aged (28yrs) were got in touch with a person through fake calls.

 "The person radicalized them and had motivated them through the spoof calls that he would help them to cross the LOC .He would meet them in person, once they will reach Uri and would eventually tell them the exact crossing point at the LOC," it reads.

However Police Uri received the information from reliable sources in time and due to the timely action of the Police Uri, all the three persons were caught at market Uri oboard in a maruti vehicle bearing reg. no JK01M-0371. 

 

After proper counselling all the three persons are being handed over to their legal heirs, he said "All the three persons were exhorted upon/advised to remain careful in future and will not attend/or fall prey to un-necessary calls/radicalization," police said.(KNS)
