Three LeT militant associates held along with arms and ammunition in Sopore: Police

Sopore, Jan 15 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested three over-ground workers of Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit along with arms and ammunition in Sopore area of Baramulla district.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that a joint team of Police, Army’s 22 RR and 179 Bn CRPF arrested three militant associates along with two pistols, two pistol magazines, thirteen pistol rounds and a hand grenade during a naka checking at Chinnar-Darpora crossing in Bomai village. 

He identified them as Arafat Majeed Dar son of Abdul Majeed Dar, Tauseef Ahmed Dar son of Late Ghulam Hassan Dar and Momin Nazir Khan son of Nazir Ahmed Khan-all residents of Sopore. 

“On preliminary enquiry, it has been revealed that the arrested persons have been providing logistical and other materialistic support to militants in the area,” he said. 

The official said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Bomai and further investigations have been taken up. (KNS)
