Those haven't seen "shadow of poverty" are using poor to cover their misdeeds: BJP leader Sunil Sharma on eviction drive

Handwara, Feb 07 (KNS): Senior BJP leader and former minister Sunil Sharma on Tuesday said those haven't seen a "shadow of poverty" are using poor to cover how much state land they encroached in their times. He said the law will take its own course and "big sharkes" who gobbled huge chunk of state land will not be spared.

The BJP leader while talking to reporters in north Kashmir's Handwara said, "Political leaders like Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, Sajad Lone etc are using poor people for their political interests. These politicians didn't see the shadow of poverty in their lives. They don't know the hardships poor was going through in their regimes. These leaders want to cover how much state land they grabbed to make the life of their family and near ones luxurious," Sharma as per KNS said.

He said instead of coming into influence of the rhetoric of political leaders, we all should know the difference between influential and poor and added the law should be given to take its route smoothly so that the state land encroached by "big sharks" will get retrieved.

"If I have grabbed state land in past why I am hesitating to hand over it back to the government," Sharma said.

The BJP leader reiterated that strict directions have been passed to administration that no poor whose residence and livelihood is dependent on few marlas of land will not be touched. He said it is unfortunate that some big sharks are using poor people to cover what they grabbed in their times.

Lashing out at regional mainstream politicians, Sharma said those shook by the ongoing eviction drive have not spent a single day of their life in poverty. "Omar Abdullah has made crores worth assets from Kashmir to London. Mehbooba Mufti is born in Home Minister’s house. Similarly Sajad Lone also cannot imagine the poverty. Only BJP activists know the hardships poor is going through," he asserted.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi stands for poor who rolled out numerous welfare schemes for the community including insurance cover upto 5 lac rupees. (KNS)
