Sub-zero Temperatures Persist in Kashmir, Srinagar Records -4.8°C

Srinagar, Feb 09(KNS): Sub-zero temperatures persisted in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, with Srinagar registering a low of -4.8°C.


According to a meteorological department, although Srinagar's temperature was slightly higher than the previous night's -5.2°C, it remained 4.4°C below normal for this time of the year.

Qazigund maintained a minimum of -6.4°C, consistent with the previous night, while Pahalgam recorded -10.3°C, slightly higher than the previous night's -11.9°C.

Kokernag saw a minimum of -5.0°C, lower than the previous night's -4.5°C, and Kupwara recorded -4.9°C, 2.9°C below normal.
Gulmarg marked -9.0°C, showing a slight increase from the previous night's -12.0°C. Meanwhile, Jammu experienced a minimum of 5.3°C, below normal by 4.2°C.

Banihal recorded 2.0°C, Batote 3.3°C, and Bhaderwah -1.6°C.

Meanwhile, the forecast indicates dry weather until February 17, with occasional cloudy evenings expected on February 14. From February 18-20, there's a possibility of light snow and rain.(KNS).
