Strong tremors jolts J&K, parts of north India

Srinagar, March 21 (KNS): Strong tremors, lasting for several seconds, were felt in several north Indian states including Jammu and Kashmir late on Tuesday after a 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan today evening.


Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said people were seen coming out of their homes after strong tremors were felt across Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of India.

Videos shared on social media show people gathered on the streets and people reported objects falling inside their homes.

There were no immediate reports of any deaths or injury and any damage to properties. (KNS)
