Neglecting fruit and tourism industry in recent budget unfortunate: Bashir Dar

Jammu  Feb 02 :(KNS)  Sr. Vice President and former Minister, Abdul Gani Vakil, today said that Jammu Kashmir Peoples Conference will always fight to ensure equitable development of all the regions of Jammu and Kashmir as it strengthens the bonds of unity and integrity of the J&K which is the need of the hour”, Vakil was addressing party workers convention of PC in Jammu today. While addressing the convention Vakil described the political situation in general in J&K as quiet fluid where good governance, transparency and accountability are missing from the scene and in particular the administration at the district level is behaving like a mute spectator.

Urging the government of India to initiate confidence-building measures to end the widening wedge between the people here and the administration. Vakil further highlighted that in order to regain people's trust and win back their hearts, the central government must restore statehood for Jammu and Kashmir and release political prisoners, regularise casual workers and dailywagers so that same could pre-empt the larger democratic process to flourish in an otherwise crisis ridden place. GoI must end the prevalent bureaucratic raj and allow the popular government to be elected without delay Vakil added.

Addressing the gathering Sr. Peoples Conference (PC) Leader and Ex.MLA Bashir Ahmad Dar expressed his dismay over neglect of fruit and tourism industry in the recent Budget and stressed upon GoI to announce a comprehensive economic package for revival of the same. Fruit growers and people associated with tourism industry are facing acute hardships as the state administration had sidelined their demands. "
