September 02 (KNS) : Senior Superintendent of Police Handwara,Tahir Saleem Khan-JKPS, chaired a comprehensive Security Review Meeting at District Police Headquarters, Handwara, to assess the overall security preparedness and review the prevailing security scenario across the Police district.
The meeting was attended by Gazetted Officers of Handwara Police, along with SHOs, DOs and In-Charges of Police Components. During the meeting, the SSP conducted a detailed review of various critical security and policing aspects, including investigation of cases under NDPS and UAPA Acts, identification of security hotspots and social media surveillance.
The SSP also reviewed the existing deployment patterns, vulnerability mapping and preventive security measures being implemented across the Police district. He directed officers to further strengthen beat policing, maintain close contact with residents and ensure regular visits to vulnerable and sensitive areas for early identification of potential security concerns.
Emphasising preventive policing, SSP directed all officers to adopt a proactive approach, intensify patrolling and checking, strengthen naka arrangements and ensure timely preventive action against elements likely to disturb peace and public order.
Special emphasis was laid on women safety, with directions to remain particularly responsive to complaints concerning women and girls, strengthen patrolling around educational institutions, markets and other vulnerable locations, and ensure prompt and sensitive handling of such grievances.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
SSP Handwara stressed the importance of robust Police-Public Relations, directing officers to maintain regular interaction with the community, strengthen public outreach and ensure that the concerns of citizens are heard and addressed promptly.
Public grievances were also reviewed, with officers instructed to accord due priority to grievance redressal and ensure timely, transparent and effective resolution of public issues. He underscored the need for close coordination among Police, Army and CAPFs to ensure seamless operational synergy, effective information sharing and a coordinated response to any emerging security challenge.
While appreciating the dedication and professional commitment of Handwara Police personnel, SSP Tahir Saleem Khan-JKPS exhorted all ranks to continue working with renewed zeal, discipline, professionalism and vigilance, while maintaining a strong focus on community-oriented policing.
He stressed that proactive beat policing, preventive measures, public participation and inter-agency coordination are vital for maintaining peace, security and public confidence, and called upon all ranks to remain alert and committed to ensuring a safe, secure and peaceful environment for the people of Police District Handwara.(KNS)
