SSP Anantnag reviews ops, crime scenario, stresses zero-tolerance against drug trafficking

Anantnag, Sep 2 (KNS) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS, on Wednesday chaired a comprehensive operations and crime review meeting at the District Police Office (DPO) Anantnag to take stock of the overall security situation and the progress of ongoing investigations in the district.

The meeting was attended by ASP North Camp Ashmuqam Shri Rameez Raja, all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Station House Officers (SHOs) and In-Charges of Police Posts.

During the meeting, the SSP reviewed the status of registered cases, progress of investigations, pendency of cases, preventive measures and the overall law and order scenario. He directed all officers to ensure timely and professional investigation of cases, close monitoring of pending cases and strict adherence to established procedures.

Emphasising a zero-tolerance approach towards drug trafficking, the SSP directed officers to identify and take stringent action against drug suppliers, peddlers and repeat offenders.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe also stressed upon effective investigation of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) cases and timely completion of legal proceedings. Officers were further directed to intensify efforts to trace financial networks and properties linked to drug trafficking, wherever applicable.

The SSP also underlined the need for strengthening preventive policing, taking prompt action against anti-social and criminal elements, effective beat policing and prompt redressal of public grievances. He directed all officers to remain vigilant, ensure accountability at every level and adopt a proactive approach towards maintaining peace, security and public order across the district, the police said in a statement.
