Srinagar Police solved a burglary case, stolen items worth Rs 18 Lacs recovered

 


Srinagar, Octoberb24:(KNS) On 18-10-2020, Police Station Batmaloo received an application from Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat S/O Ghulam Ahmad Bhat R/O Iqbal Abad Batmaloo, complaining therein that some unknown burglars have broken into his warehouse located at Iqbal Abad opposite Degree Collage Bemina during the intervening night of 17/18-10-2020. It was reported that the unknown burglars have stolen different brands of cigarettes from the warehouse etc.
Accordingly, a case FIR No: 145/2020 U/S 457, 380 IPC was registered and investigation set into motion. During investigation, the scene of crime was inspected and statements of witnesses were recorded. Beisdes, CCTV footage was also examined. Based on clues, a suspect was held for questioning, who was identified as:
1. Muzaffar Ahamd Dar S/O Ghulam Mohammad Dar R/O Hanjivera Reshipora Pattan.
During questioning, the suspect revealed the whole plot and the suspect had two accomplices, who alongwith the above mentioned suspect, conducted reconnaissance of the warehouse earlier in the day and planned the said burglary. The two accomplices were identified as: 2. Imran Hussain Mir S/O Manzoor Ahmad Mir R/O Kakarpora Mirgund Pattan Baramulla and Gulshan Abass @Hashim @Lala S/O Ghulam Mustafa Mir R/O Gund Hassibhat Parimpora Srinagar
During intervening night of 17/18-10-2020, all the three accused reached the warehouse, broke open the locks and removed the stocks in the shape of different brands of Cigarettes.
Immediately accused No: 02 was apprehended while as accused No: 03 could not be found till date. Accused No. 02 corroborated the disclosure of accused No. 01 and further adding that they contacted a wholesale shopkeepernamely: Manzoor Ahamd Khanday S/O Abdul Gaffar Khanday R/O Narabal Ghat and struck a deal with him.
The stocks worth around Rs 18 Lacs were sold to the shopkeeper for an amount of Rs 5,80,000. Out of the amount, only Rs 1,80,000 were paid to the burglars by the shopkeeper.
The two arrested accused led Police party to the shop of accused No: 04 where the stolen stocks were recovered. The details of recovered property are as under: Star Mint (Gold Flake): 01 case (containing 60 Box), 27 Box and 17 Packets Premium (Gold Flake): 05 cases (containing 24 Box each), 14 Box and 42 Packets. King Gold Flake : 06 cases (containing 50 Box each), 19 Box. Cigarette Classic: 06 Box. India King: 03 Box. Centaury (Navy Cut): 01 Case containing 60 Boxes. Total recovered: Rs 18,07,636-00
Out of four accused, three are under custody and have been remanded to Police lockup while as accused No-3 is still at large. His search is underway. These burglars are being investigated for their possible involvement in other cases of the relevant nature.(KNS)
