Srinagar October 13 (KNS): The police on Thurday busted a gang of thieves, also arrested five persons with stolen items.

A written complaint was recieved by Police Post Banmohalla from one Owais Amin Najar S/O Mohammad Amin Najar R/O Shahwari Srinagar regarding theft of his vehicle.

Upon this a Case FIR No. 50/ 2022 U/S 379 IPC was registered in PS MR GUNJ pertaining to the theft of one vehicle bearing registration No. JK05B 2105

During the investigation of the instant case and technical assistance recieved from North police lab, 05 suspects were picked up for questioning by PP Banmohlla. 

During sustained questioning alongwith SHO MR GUNJ, they disclosed their involvement in the said case and many other theft cases.

Following 5 were arrested namely:  01) Arsalan Mushtaq Wandroo, S/o Late Mushtaq Ahmad, R/o Puj Mohallah Rinawari, Age=24, 02) Momin Bilal Bhat, S/o Bilal Ahmad Bhat, R/o Khaniyar, Age=19, 03) Mehran Shafi Bhat, S/o Mohd Shafi Bhat, R/o Mir Masjid Khaniyar, 04) Rameez Showkat Matoo, S/o Showkat Ahmad Matoo, R/o Hazari bazar Rinawari, 05) Nadeem Ahmad Sheikh, S/o Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh, R/o Sheikh Colony hawal Nowhatta, Age=24.

During interrogation following stolen items were recovered from their possession:1) Motorcycle (Discovery) DL6SAR/ 4913 colour black = 01 No., 2) Mobile phones ( VIVO)  =  02 No. 3) Mobile phones  (REDMI ) = 02 No's.  4) Mobile Phone  (MI ) = 01 No. 5) Mobile phones  (OPPO) = 02 No's 6) Mobile phone (GIONEE) = 01 No. 7) Mobile phone  (SAMSUNG)= 01 No 8)Mobile phone  (ITEL ) = 01 No.  9) Mobile phone (JIO)   = 01 No.  10) Wrist Watch  (TITAN ) = 01 No. 11) Gas Cylinder (HP )   = 01 No.

Accordingly the above said stolen items were seized U/S 102 CrPC. Moreover the above said vehicle Maruti Car numbered JK05B 2105 also stands recovered from the said persons.

The investigation of the instant case is going on and more recoveries are expected.(KNS)
