Kits distributed under Sports For All to boost rural sports: Waheed Para

Srinagar, Jun 02 (KNS): In order to boost the rural sports, Jammu and Kashmir State Sports council on Saturday distributed the cricket kits to the teams, clubs registered under sports for All with Sports council.
“Earlier we had given them the certifications of the registered clubs and now we have started the process of distributing the equipments to these teams and clubs under Sports For All,” said Secretary Sports Council, Waheed Ur Rehman Parra.
It is pertinent to mention here that the teams and clubs had earlier registered with sports council and were provided certifications.
While distributing the equipment’s to these clubs and teams for better sports facilities and to engage more and more youngsters in rural areas, Secretary Sports council, waheed ur Rehman Parra said, “our youth has lot of potential to compete at National and International levels, for which Government will be always at forefront in promoting the raw talent to provide them a platform where they can excel in the field of sports.” He said.
Meanwhile, Joint Secretary (K), Nazir Ahmad, DSO, Nuzhat Ara, CSO, Abdul Qayoom, Sports officer (C), Gazala and other officials of the sports council were present on the occasion.
The team and club heads later on thanked the sports council for equipping them with the necessary equipments and termed the development as need of the hour.
“We were desperate for these equipments and today it happened. We can now properly guide and train the players with proper equipments and that will make them learn the certain nuances of the sport,” said Umer Farooq, who heads the Legacy Club Anantnag. (KNS)
