Kupwara, Nov 17 (KNS): Several BSNL fiber subscribers of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday alleged that department has failed to provide uninterrupted and high-speed internet services despite paying high tariff bills per month.
Many subscribers told KNS that they are monthly paying rupees 1999 for which they are being provided 8.6kbps internet speed but from last several days the speed has been reduced, causing huge inconvenience to subscribers in the district.
Mansoor Ahmad, a subscriber said since outbreak of pandemic we are connected with our offices from home in order to avoid assemblies and gatherings but due to reduction of internet speed from several days, our work from home has been badly affected.
“We are speechless as we can’t send our dispatches to our higher ups waiting on the other end. We communicated BSNL officials in this regard but of no avail”, he said.
He expressed shock over putting his and other colleagues mobile numbers into black list by a BSNL official.
“We contacted concern BSNL Manager multiple times but instead of solving the matter, he only pacified us by giving hollow assurances. Now we came to shock after knowing it the said official has put our numbers into black list and is not responding to our grievances”, he alleged.
Local subscribers appealed Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Anshul Garg to intervene into the matter and make the department accountable of their faults. (KNS)
