Sopore January 04:(KNS) Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Sopore have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.

Officers at a checkpoint established at Warpora Sopore intercepted an individual identified as Bilal Ahmad Lone resident of Botingoo Sopore. During checking officers were able to recover 192 capsules of psychotropic substance from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Post Warpora where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, case FIR No. 04/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation in the matter has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.(KNS)
